Counseling Services Staff

Harriette Fulton, Licensed Professional Counselor, Director of Counseling Services.  Harriette received her Master's in Human Development and Learning from the University of North Carolina in Charlotte in 1986.  She has 20 years of counseling and student affairs experience, 10 years of which were as Director of Counseling for for Georgia Baptist College or Nursing.  She became the Director of the Mercer/Atlanta Counseling Services in January of 2001.

Julie Cannon, Licensed Professional Counselor, Assistant Director of Counseling Services. Julie received her Master's degree in Counselor Education from the University of Alabama in 1992. She has worked as an Academic Advisor, Hospice Chaplain, Psychotherapist, and Pastoral Counselor in outpatient and inpatient settings. Julie completed two years of post-graduate Clinical Pastoral Education residency and was ordained in 2004. In 2010, she was certified as a Job and Career Transition Coach by The Career Planning and Adult Development Network. She received her Certified Professional Counselors Supervisor credential in 2011.

Elaina Chance, Licensed Professional Counselor, Douglas Regional Academic Center. Elaina received her Master's degree in Counselor Education from Georgia Southern University in 2003. She has worked as an Academic Advisor, Psychotherapist, and Assistant Director of Outreach and Prevention in community and collegiate settings. Sally Geckeler-Wright, Counselor Intern.  Sally is a graduate of the College of William and Mary in Virginia and she will be completing her Masters in Clinical Mental Health at Mercer University this fall. She was employed in the business sector for 17 years including 3 years as a small business owner. She has interned in the Career Services office at Mercer and enjoys working with students seeking direction in career choices. She is offering a grief support group this fall and enjoys helping clients work through individual issues such as depression, anxiety and loss.

Andrew Morse, Counselor Intern. Andrew is a graduate of the University of West Georgia and is currently pursuing his Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. Andrew completed his practicum this summer at Grace Harbour, Inc. in Peachtree City where he provided individual counseling services to children and adults with symptoms relating to anxiety, depression, and anger management. He is currently serving as Clinical Mental Health Member-at-Large for Mercer’s chapter of Chi Sigma Iota National Counseling Honor Society and as President of Mercer's chapter of Active Minds.

Thomas Parker, PhD, Licensed Professional Counselor, Henry Regional Academic Center. Thomas received his Ph.D. from Clark Atlanta University in Counseling and Human Development. He has over 34 years of counseling and administrative experience at Delaware State College, Georgia Institute of Technology and Clayton State University. Kate Staley, Associate Professional Counselor.  Kate received her Master’s degree at Mercer University and is working toward her Georgia state license in Professional Counseling. She has an interest in health and wellness and mind/body practices. Kate also holds a certification in Equine Assisted Growth and Learning and volunteers with a non-profit organization that services Atlanta area residents. She also works at MARR as a substance abuse assessment counselor where she supports individuals and families through the process of recovery.
